About Kendra McGeady
Kendra McGeady is a dedicated leader, public servant, and advocate for the Cherokee people. As the District 11 Tribal Councilor, she brings years of experience in economic development, tribal transit, and legislative priorities to ensure the growth and success of Cherokee Nation.
With a career spanning over a decade at Grand Gateway Economic Development Association, Kendra has worked to strengthen communities by expanding public transportation, creating economic opportunities, and advancing policy initiatives. Her leadership roles include:

Kendra’s passion for service extends beyond her role as a councilor. She has championed major initiatives that have directly impacted Cherokee citizens, including:
Housing, Jobs, and Sustainable Communities Act (HJSCA) – Securing up to $40 million every three years to address housing shortages and develop stronger communities.
Veterans Ride Connect – Funding over 20,000 free and discounted rides for veterans to access healthcare, mental health services, and nutritional support.
Healthcare Advocacy – Sponsoring the resolution for Cherokee Nation to assume operations of IHS Claremore, improving healthcare access for Cherokee citizens.
Cultural Preservation – Supporting Cherokee language, art, and history through the Anna Mitchell Cultural Center and other initiatives.
